One of the advisors in our 2002 crew was really close to the limit (he hadn't quite gotten down there yet) and was worried about getting booted. Before lunch, our ranger told him not to worry as the doctors would cut him some slack. After lunch, the doctor was ready to boot him because he was 2 lbs over the limit. Fortunately, he could remove his boots and a large belt to get under the limit by a pound. The doctor reluctantly approved him. From this, I think we can draw several conclusions:

a) Rangers don't know everything
b) Don't eat a big lunch until after the medical checks
c) Don't assume the doctor's going to cut you any slack.
