I was just wandering if the Elk Head our crew found was still hanging up at
Clear Creek camp?
The crew found it a few steps off the trail and carried for a couple of
miles to give to the Clear Creek staff. It was day six and we didn't really
want to carry it over Mt Phillips on the way to Commanche Peak camp. Here's
a link to a picture of the crew posing with the head in front of the Clear
Creek cabin.

To our surprise the camp director suggested we make a trade. The thought
hadn't even crossed our mind about asking anyting for it. We traded it to
the staff for twelve oranges and a spoon. Our fearless crew leader lost his
spoon two days before and had been scarfing out of his bowl for two dinners.
He was too proud to borrow one when another crew member was finished. The
oranges were very fresh and ice-cold. What treat on day 6. I'm sure we
could have bartered for more. But whats the use of being greedy, since we
had planned on just giving it to the staff anyway. Everyone was happy. The
camp director found a hammer and a 16 penny nail and immdiately hung his new
trophy on the cabin's front porch.
