Doing route planning for our upcoming Trek 22.
For our Mt. Phillips to Porcupine route, we're planning on the straight shot
down Comanche creek to Rayado canyon, but I was thinking, to avoid
mosquitoes, and maybe bag another peak, we should instead take the trail to
Big Red.
Has anyone done this? What's that 600' elevation gain like from Red Hills
camp to the "intersection" just below the summit of Big Red? From the topo
map it appears as though the view from Big Red would be great.
What's the water situation typically like at Red Hills camp?
Thanks,
Mike
