In my current work assignment I am spending all sorts of quality time in all
sorts of places around the world where drinking water from the tap is a real
problem.
I carry and use the MIOX and haven't had any problems even in the worst of
places. (in at least one four star hotel I repeatedly failed to test clear
until I added an additional half-liter dose of the oxidant to the liter of
water I was trying to purify ie: I needed to add the amount that normally
would have purified a liter and one half.)
The airport security inspection folks haven't given me any problems when I
carry the device in my carry on luggage and in most of my destinations this
is the only way to be sure it will arrive. I bought a few small plastic
screw-top containers at Campmor and I use them to hold the spare salt and
the test strips. I don't (yet) carry a spare battery which is a mistake that
I will rectify before my next trip. I also carry a one liter Nalgene with
the Philmont logo :)
