Greetings:
I wish that I was going back to philmont this summer.
I was able to return to PTC sunmer 2004 , and hopefully again in 2006 - and
my son will be old enough in 2008 so I hope to return again as an advisor -
took 2 crews / 82 / 83 ....long time ago.....
One of the things I had as a goal at PTC was to get back to all of the areas
that I was not able to spend much time at in 82 and 83. The Villa , Seton
library , Rayado and after reading a number of the Philmont books - looking
deeper into the traditions and history of the ranch.
The Villa was always a charm - but it is much nicer when you dont have to
breeze on through.
The Town of Cimaron was also worth the trip and I must say that the museum
in town is an eclictic mix of "STUFF' .
And I am sure by the time I return in 2006 I will revisit the areas that
need to be seen again.
BTW - anyone know what the story is with the Fire Department buidings on
Philmont property , one garage at Tent City boundries and one garage at CHQ
complex. Are these part of the county fire/ems system or strictly Philmont fire
stations.
To those going to Philmont - enjoy yourselves and please share your
impressions of the ranch.
