Could someone please share what time the equipment turn in closes for
LUNCH??
IF you want to do as much as you can after hiking in the base camp, you want
to CLEAN and turn in your borrowed Philmont gear before they go to lunch.
Trek 6 is the same one we did in 2003, but then I think it was #11. We got
up at 4:30 am, packed up, and started hiking ASAP. The sun was just coming
up, so it was NOT pitch dark. We took our time at the Tooth and then
started the "DEATH MARCH" to base camp. Make sure you have enough water.
It is SUNNY and HOT. But we still saw quite a few deer.
Our goal was to turn in GEAR before Staff went to lunch. ASK them what time
they go to lunch when you pick up get before your trek, so you can plan
according.
We then showered, took the bus, to town for ice cream and Pizza, and went on
the Villa tour at 4:30. (AGAIN I remind you make your VILLA tour
reservations before your trek.) Tours start on the Half hour.
