What is the freezed dried food Philmont issues packaged in? On our training hikes we re-hydraded all our food in the bags it came in (Mountain House brand with foil bags and zip lock closures) We would open up all the bags, pour in boiling water, seal them up , then all the scouts would put on their leather gloves and kneed the bags to make sure all the food and water got mixed well. Usually gave the re-hydrating a little longer than the directions called for and food turned out great and we could serve all food at the same time.We even had time to make coffee for the advisors while the food was re-hydrating. From the chat it sounds like the bags do not seal up and do not have a wide bottom on them to make them self standing. Thanks for any help.
