Day 7: ...The itinerary lists French Henry Mine as a program alternative

tired but happy.

Our Trek 32 crew last year managed program at French Henry, but only by
returning to Miranda around dusk. Left Miranda around 5:45 am, through Black
Horse to peak around 11:30. Couldn't tear ourselves away until near 1 pm (as
afternoon storm clouds began gathering). Down the north face (a new aerobic
sport for us, skree-ing) through Copper Park to French Henry (so THAT's what
The Wall looks like!). We did blacksmithing and the Aztec Mine tour, skipped
the gold panning and rolled around the side of the mountain to Baldy Town
for commissary at 6 pm, too late for showers. Back through Ute Meadows to
Miranda around 8 pm, whereupon we cooked supper in the dark. An
unintentionally long but exhilarating day for all.
