We always carry a pump (filter), mainly for the taste. There are places
where I would have no issues drinking the water straight from the pump, and
there are places where I wouldn't drink the water without pumping and
purifying (including the hunting lodge's purified water spigot!).

Just curious how many Philmont crews this summer have been carrying pump
water purifiers this year and how they were accepted by the Rangers and
Philmont staff. I understand there is a difference between a "filter" and a
"purifier".
