Doug, tell your guys to stop thinking and listen to the voices of experience. Not on this web list, but in the pack list. People a lot smarter than us came up with that. I bet you're smart enough to take it but you must convince your guys that there's a time and placer for trail judgment, but while reading the pack list is NOT one of those times!
If you have people getting "independent minded" back here, I'd nip that in the bud before you get out there.
