The thing to remember is that it will normally be colder at 14,000 feet
than at 8,000. For airplanes, the rule of thumb is about 3.5 degrees
per thousand feet. On land, it will be lower than that because of earth
heating effects but still colder.

Having said that, a well used 20 degree bag was good enough for me in
2001 on Baldy. I tend to need a warmer bag in cold weather.
