I know that it is too late to get a message to Pete since his crew was catching a bus this morning...I'll look for him at Logistics tomorrow!

Regarding camp shoes, though.  Last trip I carried a pair of good, sturdy walking shoes for 70 miles.  Never wore them.  (Luckily I have a pair of 30-yr old iking boots that feel like a second skin.)  However, lots of guys on our crew are taking the Crocs that you see at every store and mall.  These things are the absolute lightest, very comfortable, have a thick sole, enclosed toe--just about ideal.  They won't work for rock climbing, but they see perfect for wearing in camp.

(The brandname Crocs are $30...Payless Shoe Source carries a knockoff for $15.)

Regarding camp shoes, right now, my son and I have Tevas....  you know, Aqua Socks.  I'm questioning bringing them for camp shoes in spite of their light weight because of many of your comments and suggestions.  We're leaning toward sneakers.

The question my son brought up, which I hadn't thought of is, what shoes do we wear while rock climbing?  Our boots or our camp shoes?
