Although I haven't heard from any of them, our two crews should have
arrived back home early this morning. Probably some big time sleeping
still going on right now.
I spoke with one of the adults on Monday and he reported that both crews
had good treks. He was in his tent at CHQ and calling on his cell phone.
Voice was very clear. I believe he is with Cingular. One crew did #8 and
the other did #18, which is apparently not very popular as I haven't found
anyone else who has done that one.
Yesterday, I received an e-mail from a 24 year old Eagle Scout Marine
Corps Lt. who spent his 14th and 16th birthdays at Philmont. He wrote:

Here are some pictures of our month spent in Camp Fuji (about 2 hours
north of Tokyo). We went up there to fire some artillery since we can't
do it on Okinawa. Unfortunately it was foggy or raining most of the
time, but there were a couple of nice days.
We also got to climb the mountain (a lot like Mt Baldy for you Philmont
vets) and visit Tokyo while we were there. The mountain was the best
part for me. A few of the more adventuresome lieutenants, including
yours truly, started at midnight and made it to the top in time to see
the sunrise.

One of the photos showed the group of three Texans on top of Mt. Fugi with
clouds below them. Quite interesting!
