I came back after my first week at summer camp as staff at age 13 and walked
into my mother smiling. She said it was time I learned to wash my clothes
(because she was not going to touch those things.)
Been washing my own clothes ever since.
Mom went on to become silver beaver and I learned to iron also.

This reminds me of what one of our Troop dads said when his 12 year old son
got home from his first week of Scout camp ever.
"We washed all the clothes that he didn't wear. We threw away the set that
he did wear."
That kid is a Philmont Ranger this summer, too!
