only if you need to eat a dinner for lunch because you're at a DRY camp over
night. That is what the rangers recomend so you don't have to carry so much
water to a dry camp to cook a dinner.

Logistics will have a list of the water availability and quality, have your
crew leader make some notes about this. They try to keep it current.
