same idea for breaking in/ trying out NEW boot liners, like SuperFEET. I
got custom fit ones before my trek in 2003, and used them only a couple
times before going. My thinking, they are custom fit, how could there be a
problem...........by day 2 at Philmont I had huge blisters on both heels.
Had to use 2nd skin, mole skin, and duct tape to hike without pain. BY day
4 I was used to it. By day 6, my feet were much better............but oh
how it hurt at first.
I went on a couple more hikes, the the boot liners are now great.
NOW for my great dilemma,
should I buy new boots for 2007????? My troop does not do a lot of
backpacking each year, so I know there is probably wear left. the new ones
I see at REI and other places look so much lighter than my 1998 model, which
is alot lighter than the 1976 model I had before that............any
thoughts you may wish to share on this topic will be appreciated.
