I'm sorry to hear about your bone growths. Ouch! And you are absolutely
correct about proper fit.
Still, I would agree with Roy to the extent that if you normally wear shoes
around town and don't wear your boots once every couple of weeks, it's a good
idea to wear your boots at the office every other day for two or three weeks
prior to a strenuous hike. This gets your ankles reacquainted with their
friends the scree collars, and also with the different feel and weight of the
boots compared with what you normally have on your feet.
