you can get Knee high hose in a variety of weights (and colors)
"Support" hose has elastic woven into it which hugs your foot. it holds its
shape really well and may last a little longer. The cheapest cost in hose
will usually result in the thinnest, but not always.
As with any thing, trial and error are best
I think this is a really good idea, and I'm mad I didn't think of it.
