[philmont] Phil memory

Here's mine.

As a very young boy, I always wondered why we said the Philmont Grace,
instead of other more traditional blessings. I always wondered why we had a
Philmont grace plaque on the wall in the dining room. I always wondered why my dad
had a "we made it" plaque in his office at home, and one in his office at work.
I also wondered why my dad had a funny look when he talked about Philmont to
me. He was an advisor in a High Adventure Explorer Post in Nederland, Texas
before I was born. We now call these groups Venture Crews. He went all over
the country on high adventure trips to Philmont, and Region 7 canoe base (now
part of Northern Tier), and other adventures.

In 2001, I had the pleasure of attending Philmont with three crews from our
council, and I finally got it. All of the things he did made sense. Philmont
is a great place, full of fond memories for me.

PSA reunion next weekend! I'm going back to Philmont!
