Here's some info from wildlife.state.nm.us website on fishing license.
Cost for out of state residents
1 day - $12
5 day - $24
Annual - $56 (4/1/XX - 3/31/XX)
You can but online or mail in form with enter the dates you are going to fish for the effective date of the license. 1 day license are good from 12:01 am to 11:59 pm of the one day selected. You specify the dates on the 5 day and the annual in good from 4/1/XX to 3/31/XX regardless of when you purchase.
