I agree with Bill with curiosity about the curiosity regarding latrines. Having said that I would like to see a repeat from Backpacker a few years ago about which latrines in the USA had the best view; I seem to remember that PSR had a top 10. Some years this list just picks some different things to discuss and its kinda fun as long as some things as just idle curiosity. A couple of years ago there was lots of discussion about which method was best for cooking. We, for the last 3 (troop/crew/troop) years, used the method we saw on line that showed how to use the food packet bags with boiling water to do dinner. The only dishes we've done are bowls, spoons and cups. Really appreciated that tip and we've refined it a bit so that we don't have to search out rocks. Some day PSR may stop teaching that awful dump-in-junk cooking method. Our rangers were always sharp enough to not waste their time, or our's, to bother teaching it.

That being said, the boxes at Agua Fria and Tooth Ridge are truly sublime, as others have posted. There's one at Red Hills that is worth a visit, as well, not for the view, but for the solitude.
