Bill and Dan,
That is probably good advice. Some of the youth did use a trowel on
our shakedown hikes. I have used a 3-wing tent stake and a stick for
years, but it was a new experience for a few of the crew members. We
purchased Phil-Food for our shakedown hikes, and about half of our
crew have been to Philmont in the past, so we are all aware of the
affect that the diet can have on us.
Oh, about the TP. We'd never leave out the 11th essential.
