[Philmont] GPS, don't bother

I have one of the older GPS models and I have taken it to Philmont
twice. But when I leave tomorrow I am not taking it again. I rely on
the scouts (and my map and compass) to figure out where I am. The GPS
is too much like work, with menus and buttons and accidental deletes.
When I get to camp or the top of a mountain I have no desire, or the
mental dexterity, to play with a computer.

And don't overplan your trek. You can plan out every hike sitting at
home, but what if you get there and want to go the other way. Let the
guys get lost (misplaced).
