[Philmont] Problem

Having a combination lock on the door to the female restroom/shower house
might work. Stationing a lookout outside the shower house seems a whole
lot more simple though.

One thing for sure, this is a situation the Philmont Administration needs
to work on if Youth Protection is really something Philmont is serious
about. I know members of the Philmont Adminstration monitor this list.
Are you guys listening?

This happened to our youth females just 5 days ago when they came off the
trail. It was a male advisor that walked right into their bathroom, saw
the half-naked girls and fled. Our girls aren't too shy after being on
the trail with 8 guys for 11 days (and after being stalked by a mountain
lion, they moved closer to the group for bathroom breaks), but it unnerved
them to say the least.
The problem with Calvin's solution is that EVERYONE is in a rush to get a
shower taken after 11 days on the trail and it isn't very fair to have one
person sitting outside the girl's showers for 30 minutes steering off the
ignorant. I'm thinking a door that locks would be a better solution for
both the adult and youth female showerhouses. YIS. Mike Conkey ('76,

If you have a crew with female members, my suggestion is that you
station

Our Cavalcade crew (616-CV) had 15 riders including 1 adult female and
two
> 19-year old female Venturers. They had problems with adult men walking
into the tent city restrooms and showers designated for females. This
took place on each of the three days the crew was at CHQ.
