I don't recall the brand but the best backpackable folding camp chair I
ever owned had a cloth seat that stretched between two metal tubes,
and (blessedly) had a cloth pad that felt great up against the lower part
of my back.
When I sat in this chair I felt all the aches and pains just melt away.
No log, rock or bedroll could hold a candle to the relief gained by
sitting in this chair after some time on the trail.
Next to a foam pad under the sleeping bag, a good camp chair is
something really useful to have on a trek.
Obviously you want something light, that can fold up and will attach
easily to your pack.
Maintaining your well being on the trail, whether you are a crew advisor
or crew member, is something a camp chair will really contribute to.

Philmont 1965 (when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Clarence Dunn,
the creator of the Ranger system at Philmont was still around)
Philmont 1978 (a great experience where I found all the advising I did
was to compliment the crew on the fine job they were doing)
