IF your council has NOT organized/offered a council contingent in the past, you might consider offering to be the lead advisor and asking the council to give it a try. No harm in asking.....

Talk to your council HIGH ADVENTURE team (HAT) if you have one, or the camping dept or prof scouter incharge of camping in your council if you don't have a HAT.

You would then need to communicate about going in your Council publications starting EARLY, this fall!!! A council contigent is a great way to go, I have gone both ways, as a troop and with a council contingent. Council Contingents do get priority, I believe all the council has to do is ask for a crew.

Any way you get there, You will probably find training support from your HAT or the person who is the coordinator of the PHILMONT council contingent............atleast that is the way my council is organized. (I am the NorthernTier contact on my HAT, but that is a discussion for another list)
