I use my long underwear as my sleeping clothes. then I have them for other use if needed. Kim Pigorsch Philmont '99, '03, '07 (724-T) Troop 681 Outdoor Chairmun (sic)

But if you do have to use those long underware for anything other than sleeping, then from that point on you have to sleep naked less you chance getting eaten by a bear! That's OK though because bears prefer not to have to floss after meals. The bits of cloth tend to get caught between their teeth.

Sorry for the tongue in cheek Kim, but I wanna make a point that once used outside the tent/sleeping/away from food environment, they cannot be used back in that environment without crossing the line of safe bearmanship.

That is exactly what I do and mostly they along with glioves a pair of socks and a lightweight knit cap stay in the bottom of the sleeping bag and never get used, but are where I KNOW where they are in the event we have an extra cold, wet, rainy night at Philmont. YOu only get cold at about 2AM and then a trek to the pack for more warm things is no fun at all.

A four ounce pair of Polyethylene long underware is a mighty nice thing to have when you need them in the middle of the night. We are not talking about the heavy duty variety.
