A Phil tent takes 14 stakes minimum, if you run two lines to one stake front and back, and two on each side.
A Phil-tent is a Black Diamond 2-man.? It weighs 7 lbs. 2 oz. with the fly and poles.? Tent pegs are additional.

Subject: [Philmont] Phil tent weight

from Bill Sheehan....

David Richardson writes w.r.t. Philtents? "...with 8 gutter spikes..." I believe my surplus Philtent requires 20 pegs. I'm sure it doesn't set up with 8. I'm also sure the 7+ lbs. is correct.

Comment....

A Phil tent takes 14 stakes minimum, if you run two lines to one stake front and back, and two on each side.? 20 if you stake each line.

I too think that 7+ is closer to the truth.
