Good points. Philmont has a very thorough medical form that must be
completed. I would suggest that you forward the young man's medical records
directly to Philmont and let them make an assessment. I did that one year
for one scout with severe asthma who wanted to go. Philmont notified me that
because of his condition, he would not be allowed on the trail. It helped us
reconfigure the crew and get a replacement early in the planning process.
