If you lay off the LCD screen, you can take hundreds of pictures with the
Energizer Photo lithium batteries. I put new batteries in an Olympus C-3020
and took over 300 pictures in Cancun a month ago and have taken more than
100 since I returned. Same batteries.. They are lighter than AA batteries:
Duracell (2) - 1.7 ounces
Energizer lithium (2) - 1 ounce
If you use them in a Mini-maglite be prepared to change the bulb - they blow
out quickly with that much power, but last (with a new bulb) a long time.
Get 'em at your local drug store photo counter.

Subject: [Philmont]: Camera's and Batteries
Could any of you camera buffs out there offer suggestions about the pros and
cons of taking a digital camera Vs a point and shoot 35 mm camera?
1) Can you buy AA batteries (for the digital camera or a GPS) in the back
country trading posts?
2) Batteries are heavier that 35 mm film. If I had to pack enough batteries
for 12 days that would be a lot heavier that 35 mm film.
3) The Smart media cards are a lot lighter than the 35 mm film.
Any help or experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark D.
