Hate to say it, but pictures are the one part of any document that does not
compress. They are usually already compressed JPEG pictures.
 
The text portions of documents are what really gets compressed. I don't
think compressing it will help much if at all unless his pictures are BMP
files.
 
Unless you want him to reduce the size of each picture. Then you have to
have the right software, otherwise many programs actually increase the size
of the file while reducing the size of the print. Sounds backwards, I know,
but I've used many different such programs, Windows and MAC based.
