Exactly on point. Before all of this year's uncertainty, the real value of
studying your route beforehand was to have an idea of everything in the vicinity
of the route in order to make informed decisions on the trail.

For those with North and Valle routes this year, that is now impossible. But
you can study the South and Central maps to get a feel for the relationship
of the camps to one another, what programs are where (with the new addition
of Mountain biking at Zastrow), water availability (in the south should not
be an issue unless the streams dry up completely, except of course for Mount
Phillips and Tooth Ridge), etc. In short, become prepared so that when in Logistics
they say you are going to Beaubien or Fish Camp or Cito or whereever, your Crew
Leader doesn't have a blank look on his face and say "where's that?" or "what's
there?". And if on day 6 on the trail you are told your next camp is closed
because of bear incident / whatever and that another change must be made, you
can make an intelligent assessement of your options.

The nightly crew meeting to review the next day's hike will become even more
critical, since the crew will not have the chance to do any pre-trek preparation
for the route.
