I recall reading something that a Baldy camp was still in the loop and also
assumed that it was within the confines Philmont's boundaries, therefore still
in play. I knew the National Forest was closed before the fire but
did not think that affected Baldy...

I too saw something about staff at Baldy Town, but that was in support of the
fire fighting effort (purposes of triangulating smoke and fire sightings).
Not sure if that is what you saw, or not. Maps of the extent of the fire seem
to show that the edge of the fire in that area is around Pueblano, and that
Baldy is outside of the fire itself. However, the "official bulletin" from
Philmont dated June 6 was that all of Philmont north of Highway 64 (which parallels
the Cimarron River) is closed, which includes Baldy.
