Having just returned from a brief visit with our daughter at PHilmont
yesterday, the good news is that the fire continues to come under control
and as of yesterday, it was estimated at 75% containment. As we drove in
from CO the sky was very hazy over Philmont, however once at CHQ, things
were fairly clear. Spirits in the Ranger Dept. are quite high, and
although your trek may be re-routed, all crews are still in for a great
time!
