Permethrin is of minimal scent once dry. The treatment is only good for
about ten days, so don't treat too soon before packing. I would suggest
treatment before the trek and leaving the rest at home. The treatment in a
bottle is a smellable, clothing once treated have no more scent than the
detergents you have washed the garment with.
Hope this helps. We used the treatment at Sommers Canoe Base with great
result.
