RE: [Philmont]: Airline baggage handling?

We bought duffel bags big enough to put the packs in. Army surplus
works, there are others -- I got some from a local sporting goods store
for around $20 each. Then, while you're on the trek, the gear you leave
behind, including a clean set of clothes, can go in your duffel in the
gear locker.

Subject: [Philmont]: Airline baggage handling?

Greetings,
How is every one handling shipping their backpacks? I was thinking
about having the scouts carry their gear in gym bags and box the pack
backs together. I know I don't want to give the baggage handlers loose
backpacks. How have other groups handles this in the past?

Thanks YIS
