My son called last night from Philmont. His crew arrived yesterday by van from Colorado Springs. His report was that the West smelt pretty smoky; also he felt Colorado was smokier than New Mexico. Yesterday, it had rained in base camp, so it also was fair
ly wet there.
They left on their trek today. Originally, they were to go north (I believe on Trek 5), but they were switched to Trek 14 in the south, omitting Baldy.
Any info on the current itinerary for Trek 14?
