Michael Anderson asks....
Are Philtents unique or can they be compared to any commercially available
tents? Also, a post a few months back said they are available in 1 and 2
person sizes. Is that true? If so, is the 1 person tent just a smaller
version of the 2 person, same setup and number of stakes required?
Comment....
Not an expert on tents, so I don't know if there is a commercially available
equivalent, especially regarding quality. The Philtents have two front
poles with a connector at top to make an upside down vee, a single vertical
rear pole and a separate fly. One door in the front. Four pegs for the
corners and twelve guy lines - if you want you can put two lines to a single
peg in the front, rear, and each side, so a minimum of eight pegs are
required for lines (doing the math, twelve minimum to sixteen total for the
tent). Used them in 1999 and would not hesitate to use them again.
All the tents are two man.
