We really preferred the flexibility of the Platypus 2 or 3 liter, roll up type. They weigh next to nothing when empty and were perfect size for treatment with Polar Pure. In addition, they were useful in carrying and distributing the load for extra water when headed to dry camps. I think we took 5 or 6 of these for our crew.

Subject: [Philmont]: canteens
What has been the best collapsible containers for use in collecting the large quantity of water for treatment at camp? I have found some Nalgene cantenes but the largest is 96 ozs. Platypus has some water tanks that go up to 210 ozs that have handles and roll up when not in use. Same empty weight of 3 ozs. Any experience with either?
