Years ago, I have had bouts of sun stroke when not wearing hats. I have a
hat on when I am outside in any weather. The hat changes with the seasons.
I picked up a great hat for backpacking on sale for only $3 (original price
of $18). It is really ugly with a "camouflage" design of bright blue,
green, yellow and white. But is soft and floppy (does not interferer with
a tall pack), wide brimmed and has a chin strop to keep it in place on
windy days. It is also adjustable to different hat sizes. It says "Notre
Dame Alum" on it. (I am qualified to wear it.) The University should be
ashamed of itself for ever licensing the product. But I wear it with pride
and comfort and can handle the ribbing I get.
