I like one made by Columbia for fishing which I use when down in the
Galveston Bay area with my rod and reel. Large stiff front brim, floppy soft
brim round the back and sides. Breathes well and has some kind of
waterproofing on it when new. Has a small cord and clip in the back to keep
it from blowing away. I usually clip the strap to the upper part of my pack
and when I hike from sun into shade flick the hat off and let it air out. I
think it cost about $15-20.
I've still got plenty of hair, but this summer I even started wearing a
large brim straw hat when outside doing yardwork. Just makes sense.
