Im a big proponent of packing light and eliminating unnecessary ounces but
I have a few questions on your list.
You mention that you are taking 2 pairs each of Smartwool socks, nylon
shorts and Coolmax tee-shirts, one to wear on the trail and one to sleep in.
In my opinion that seems limiting, as you have no option if you want to
launder clothes along the way. I would think you would be pretty gamy by the
middle of the trek with only one set of day clothes for the entire trek.
What if somehow food or Gatorade contaminates your day clothes?
Is your long sleeve fleece shirt a polar fleece shirt or jacket or a shirt
made from another fleece fiber? Depending on your trek it can still be
pretty cool in mid June at higher altitudes.
Does Philmont have fuel for your stove or are you carrying enough for the
entire trek? How many stoves and 1.3-liter pots for your crew?
You mention 2 bear bags and cord at 9.4 oz total. I am a fan of the MSR mesh
gear bags (strong, big volume and light). What are you using and how many
for your whole crew?
What is the 30 gallon plastic bag for?
Looks like a great selection of gear and your weighing them down to a tenth
of an ounce is great. I for one would be interested to hear back from you
after your trek as to what you would do differently on a future trek based
on this one.
