You can tell that you have had some real hiking experience. Your list is very well thought out for a single person doing the AT. However, remember that you will be part of a crew. Unless things have changed, it may be difficult to have each of the crew do his or her own cooking. I know an alcohol stove is light, but give me the reliability of a white gas Whisperlite any day. I also agree with the folks suggesting sleep wear for sleep wear only. I would add another t-shirt and shorts. I also like having a set of long pants. Unlike the AT, Philmont has several night activities. You might get a bit chilly sitting at a campfire in rain pants. Also, I wouldn't want to rip up a set of expensive Gore Tex pants spar pole climbing or on the conservation project. Small shovel and section maps??? That is crew gear.
