[Philmont]: Philmont Admin Questions

We have two crews attending in 2004 and there is a likelihood that two
trekkers will be arriving seperately - do we have to check in as an entire
crew or can the stragglers check in later in the day?

I noticed in the 2004 advisors guide something that I didn't see in the 2002
guide - basically if there is a discipline issue on the trail involving a
youth member and that trekker is asked to leave Philmont, an adult advisor
must accompany that youth off trail until arrangements can be made to send
him home. Although I have full confidence in the youth in our two crews to
behave properly, some things are beyone ones control...

Two questions with one being more of a curiosity,
1) does this happen on the trails of philmont and
2) how do the troops protect the advisors interest in the trip? Personally,
I wouldn't have any problem accompanying an serious injured scout back to
base camp and take my chances to getting back on the trail, but I would
imagine almost any adult advisor would be steaming to be sitting in base
camp waiting for the scouts parents to make travel arrangements back home.

Thank you
