Re: [Philmont]: waterproof ground cloth

This discussion has me baffled. I have camped for 40+ years and never put a
hole in a tent floor. When I say camped, I all ready have one 21 day
session in my sleeping bag this year. Most years, over the past 15 years
100 or more nights out doors. I have never used something inside or outside
of the tent on the floor.

Seal the seams. Set the tent up correctly in a good spot. Clear anything
away that might be an edge and fall asleep. Why take extra weight.

I own 4 tents right now, 1 with bent poles, but no wholes in floors. I
don't know of a tent mfg (there maybe one or more) that make tents with
floors that can't stand the pounding of dirt, sand etc.

And don't tell me boys/youth wont' do this. If they can't/won't what are
they doing going to Philmont.

Seems a little redundant to me.
