I'm going to jump in here and plug the company I work for on the Arkansas
River. Colorado Whitewater Expedition (1-877 Raft CWE www.raftcwe.com).
Wilderness Aware is a great company, however if you are going to Philmont,
CWE is 2 hours, 1 way, closer to the philmont route from Denver or Co
Springs to Philmont. CWE has also set up accommodations at the local Abbey
for sleeping and showers for a buck or so a night.
I am also working with another company called San Juan Canyon Adventures to
set up a Canyoneering Program for Scouts & other youth groups. If you are
going to Philmont from the West they are "on the way" in the 4 corners area.
