Yeah, you get a little wind when it rains. If you are in the trees, it
tends to cut the wind so it is not very bad. MOST of the time, storms come
out of the Western direction. In that region of the world, you have low
humidity and a low dew point. Because of that low dew point, the
temperature drops a good bit when it rains. This is why it's important to
put on the rain gear. It cuts the wind and retains some body heat to ward
off hypothermia. My big fear during rain was always the lightning. It is
not unusual to get hail when it rains out there. About the best you can
do is put your pack over your head so you won't get pelted if you are
caught on the trail.
