Please folk take a Wilderness First Aid course from any number of good providers including SOLO (our crew re-certs every two years with SOLO), Wilderness Medical Associates or now even your local American Red Cross chapter and learn the protocols. You don't close a soft tissue wound in the backcountry. It will only lead to more damage due to infection. Evacuate the person to where they can get professional medicl care.
