WEAR YOUR HIKING BOOTS TO THE AIRPORT!!!

I totally understand the concern for airport security and the extra
time that will be required to take off your hiking boots at the airport
screener station. But I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND NOT
WEARING YOUR HIKING BOOTS TO THE AIRPORT. Every piece
of gear that you use at Philmont can be replaced at the ranch
either by purchasing at Tooth of Time Traders or renting from from
the Ranch. However, YOU CANNOT PURCHASE OR RENT
BROKEN IN HIKING BOOTS. Telling your scouts to pack their
boots is a recipe for forgotten hiking boots. Here in the Northeast
Georgia Council we always insist that every crew member wears
their boots to the airport.
>From past experience, the best way to make sure that every crew
member has their hiking boots with them is by them wearing them
to the airport. In my meetings with the parents, I always tell the
parents that their most important job for me is to make sure their
scout has their hiking boots on when they leave for the airport.

Going back to Scout Heaven in 2004!!!!!!!!!
