DITTO on the BUGS! We too, had a southern trek with more mosquitos and
flies than here in Minnesota! Comanche was especially bad as per a previous
post. We also had a lot of rain the first 7 days so good rain gear is a
MUST, as well as warm fleece -- we all wore it a lot the first week as it
would drastically cool off by noon each day when the rain started, and
would not warm up out of the 40's later in the day, and stayed
cool/cold/even below freezing over night. One day there was still frozen
hail on the trail at 9:00 in the morning! The last 4 days were sunny and
hot, and we baked coming over the Tooth the last day. BE PREPARED for about
anything and you'll have a great trek. We did!
